Voicemail Security

At Warehouse Mobile, we take the security of our customers seriously. We regularly monitor for suspicious activity on customer accounts, and we’ve identified unauthorised access to some customer voicemail inboxes.

What happened

  • On 22 August 2025 we identified unauthorised access to some customer voicemail inboxes. The unauthorised access seems to have occurred between 7-22 August 2025.
  • A PIN is required to access voicemail messages from another phone or while overseas. We suspect an unknown overseas party tried to access voicemail inboxes either where a default PIN had been set by us or your PIN was historically set to a weak, easy-to-guess number. Unfortunately, some attempts were successful, and your voicemail may have been affected.
  • On the evening of 22 August, we blocked traffic on the relevant international access points which were primarily being used to access the voicemail inboxes.
  • To protect your voicemail, we have reset the PIN.
  • On 26 August 2025 we notified the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of this likely unauthorised access of voicemail inboxes (Unique lodgement code: 061bd3fd-b3d3-4364-bd56-4fb505a2e9e0).

Information that was accessed

During this incident, the unauthorised party gained access to voicemail inboxes and may have listened to your voicemail greetings and any saved messages.
